tales from the schoolyard

Today as we were leaving the classroom, I saw Mr. Carrots with a long face. I asked him what was wrong:

Mr. Carrots: (dramatically) Everyone in the class can speak Spanish except me.

Me: I can't speak Spanish.

Mr. C: (indignant) I mean KIDS.

I told him there were also at least two or three kids who don't speak Spanish either and that he could learn Spanish in jr. high or high school.

That seemed to be of little consolation to him.
